‘Nefarious Tactics’ To Push More Wind Turbines
Invenergy Sues An Iowa County, Uses ‘Nefarious Tactics’ To Push More Wind Turbines
Our small, rural county has been taken advantage of by the large, out-of-state corporation.
On July 24th on email sent from Invenergy Redrock Wind Project, LCC to the Dickinson County attorney, Steven Goodlow, and directed to the Board of Supervisors requested that the County reject a moratorium or to grandfather thair project in so as not to be impacted.
At the July 25th Board of Supervisor Meeting DC3 requested that the county pass a moratorium immediately to prevent an application for wind energy and allow the Planning and Zoning Board time to revise the current ordinance.
The BOS REFUSED our request and no public comment was allowed. Our attorney has reviewed their email and refutes their claims. An email delivered August 3rd to William Leupold, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, urges them to immediately issue a moratorium on any new wind turbines applications and to please place this item on the agenda of the next Supervisor meeting. It appears that the BOS followed the directive of the Invenergy email… will they follow ours?
We’ll see on August 8th at 9 AM.
